Solid Wood Flooring
Solid wood flooring, as the name implies, is one plank of wood
taken from the tree. Solid wood flooring has the most natural feel
and finish, with a warm and natural look, and gives you the strength
and substance you would expect from a traditional floor covering.
A solid wood flooring with the right maintance will last a life
time as they are 20mm thickness amd have a 6mm layer that could
be sanded and resealed many times. Solid wood can be installed to
most sub-floors, but not underfloor heating.
Available in:
- 110, 130 and 150mm widths
- Random lengths
- lacquered, stained and oiled
- Rustic or natural finish
Engineered Flooring
Engineered flooring is a great alternative to solid wood, it offers
exceptional quality and at an affordable price. Many people choose
Engineered flooring as it can be installed over any sub-floor, including
under-floor heating, by using a floating floor method. Another plus
is that Engineered flooring doesn't incur the high installation
and preparation costs of solid wood.
Available in:
- 148mm or 189mm widths
- 15mm or 22mm thickness
- A single plank or 3-tier formation
- A variety of finishes including: unfinished, oiled and lacquered
Engineered flooring is made up of multiple layers that cross at
a 90 degree angle, glued and pressed together. The thickness of
the hardwood top ranges from 4mm to 6mm, while the inner layers
are soft wood strips and it is installed using a tongue and groove
system.
